October is the only month of the year that we had no family birthdays!! However this October 15th, 2008, I am grateful beyond words for the birth of Redd William Van Leeuwen born to Adam, Tristen, Cade, Luke and Pyper making our family number 33! Redd is named after Dennis' ancestors--his maternal grandmother, Susan Redd Butler, his great grandfather, Lemuel Hardison Redd etc. Dennis and I are asking ourselves what we did to deserve such a wonderful posterity! Tristen has astounded us all with her physical and emotional strength to bring yet another beautiful little Van Leeuwen into the world via C-Section! Four c-sections in five years!! I suggest you all check out Kim's blog to get better informed about Tristen, the invincible! We thank you, Adam and Tristen for chosing the name and for another healthy grandchild to love and cherish!

5. He melts my heart when I hold him close

7. He came into the world so easily for his mom

Awesome post! The night Redd was born we went home after meeting him for the first time and watched a movie. I picked "The Ultimate Gift" since neither of us had seen it yet. Much to our surprise and delight, the main character's name was REDD!!
