Here we are in Egypt on the Nile having a little dinner cruise! Can you tell we haven't sleep for a couple of nights?

This spun around for about ten minutes - unbelieveable!

We flew from Cairo to Luxor to see the Valley of the Kings, Valley of the Queens and the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut.
Model of the buriel tombs in the Valley of the Kings
Two Queens in the Valley of the Kings - Wendy Powell and Kathryn
Entrance to one of the four tombs we were able to see in the Valley of the Kings. The hieroglyphs were amazing but we were not allowed to take pictures.

This should also be one of the wonders of the world

The King must have been a sailor. Kathe Maxfield is pointing to the pieces of his boat.
He had it taken apart and hidden at the back of the pyramid under these stones
They built a museum over the stone chamber where the boat was hidden
This is the boat put back together

Waiting to go in the Great Pyramid. The tunnel is very small but leads to the King's Chamber about half way up the pyramid.
The entrance is behind me to the right. The King's Chamber is is half way up the wall.
The Pyramid was covered by a limestone finish. You can see a little bit of it at the top.
The Great Pyramid built by the 4th Dynasty king, Khufu (2589 - 66 BC). There were over 30 dynasties!

The only remaining Wonder of the Ancient World! Gone are the Mausoleum at Halicarnassus, the Temple of Artemis at Ephesus, the Hanging Gardens of Babylon, the Colossus of Rhodes, the statue of Zeus by Phidias at Olympia, and the lighthouse at Alexandria.
Two ancient wonders of the world
The old Arab couldn't get the picture right but you get the idea!

Our first glimpse of the Jordan River. Obviously different from what you thought, no?
Bethany beyond the Jordan is one possible site for the Baptism of Jesus by John
Israel is on the other side of the water. Nancy and Kathryn are standing on the Jordanian side.
Many Christians come here to renew their faith and be baptized in the Jordan River. The Pope visited here after us.
