My Daughters meet Bodie!

My girls had a trip of a lifetime to Cleveland, Ohio to meet their new nephew Bodie Dennis! They all crammed into Telisa tiny Condo, which made it all the more fun! I hear laughing, eating, shopping, sleeping and quoting movies was the order of the day. Wish I could of been there. They took over 200 pictures (they are my daughters!), but here are a few of my favorites. (I had to restrain myself)

Our Family Goal

On Easter this year Tiffany challenged our family to memorize"The Living Christ". She typed up a booklet for each one of us with it all broken down into 12 parts. Her mother in law, Becky Beus recorded herself reading it, which we put on CDs for all of us. Now, comes the part where my old tired brain needs to kick in. I have the CD in my car and listen to it daily. I almost have the first paragraph memorized, but it would sure help if there were music with it. When I babysat my grandkids, my grand daughter, Kourtney age 9 pretty much had the whole entire thing memorized already! Thanks for the challenge Tiff!! I am brushing off the cob webs!

Grandpa Stout

Hey everyone! Your Grandpa Stout is feeling extremely lonely and forgotten! I think he is understandably depressed. I know your lives are busy to the max, but if you could each make a phone call to Grandpa once a week, it lifts his spirits incredibly. I went over to his house on Saturday and all he could talk about was who called him since Grandma died. I don't know how much longer we will have him, so let's take advantage of this time. I wish you could all remember the days when he was %100 Handsome Harold! He was energetic, fun and the life of every party . Since he got in that recliner, he has been a different man, and then of course, Grandma's death! He is down to 148 lbs and looking very frail and sad! It breaks my heart. If all of his grandkids could give him a call weekly, that would be fantastic!! His home phone number is: 801-294-7626

On Being Grandparents!

With the miraculous birth of our latest grandchild, Bodie Dennis Van Leeuwen, Den and I continue to marvel at the absolute miracle that must take place in order to bring a healthy child into this world. While I was in Cleveland, I noted many young teenagers having babies in a very caviler manner, not even remotely aware of the sacred responsibility that bringing a child into this world means. It saddened me, but on the other hand, how grateful I felt for all my grandchildren who were created in sacred love, and then welcomed into this life with a tender unconditional love and devotion that will last far beyond this life. I know each one of our dearest grandchildren is receiving and will continue to receive all the most important teachings, physical care and virtues that is necessary to find their paths back to their Heavenly Father someday by their amazing and dedicated parents. Is it easy? NOT in the slightest! Is it worth it? Oh YES! Just wait until you become grandparents!!! To all my gifted sons and daughters numbering twelve, who are now parents or about to be parents, I honor and respect you for giving us the privilege of being grandparents. Your children will rise up and call you blessed.
