2000 year old dish set!

After the 1967 war, Israel regained control of Jerusalem. The Jewish Quarter had become an area of squatters and blight. They razed all the homes and stared an ambitious excavation of the site. Several meters below the surface they found a "Burnt House" dating back to the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 AD. The Romans set fire to the houses in the wealthy are of the Upper City. At this location, the archeologists found a stone weight with the inscription "son of Kathros" a wealthy family of high priests mentioned in the Babylonian Talmud and burnt walls.
